JOYRIDERS CRUISES INTO THE
GENE FRANKEL THEATRE THIS FALL
The tale of three friends, one car, and no lives begins performances off-Broadway
on October 20th.
NahNotOutsideMyHouse! Productions, Inc. is pleased to announce the world
premiere of JOYRIDERS, a new play by CHARLES MESSINA about three young friends
who scour the streets of Manhattan looking to find fame, fortune, and themselves.
Directed by the author, the production opens on October 20th and runs Friday
through Monday at 8:00 pm through October 29th at
THE GENE FRANKEL THEATRE, 24 Bond Street. Tickets are $20 and are available
by calling
(212) 252-6910.
JOYRIDERS tells the story of Molly Alden, a talented but insecure young
singer/dancer who, accompanied by her best friends, the boisterous Chad
Turner and the egotistical Tristan Lang, drives around the city searching
for a purpose. Ultimately an ode to aimlessness, the play explores the angst
and restlessness of youth in an honest and heartwarming way inspired by
the John Hughes films of the 1980s. In fact, JOYRIDERS has been described
by playwright Messina, a self-proclaimed 80s afficienado, as "The Breakfast
Club" on wheels.
Former Miss NY Junior Teen America DANIELLE GIACINO portrays the inhibited
yet gifted Molly Alden. Rounding out the cast are ANTHONY MARINO, who has
appeared in plays ranging from "Tommy" to "Damn Yankees,"
and CARLO RIVIECCIO, who recently appeared off-Broadway in "Block Party".
CHARLES MESSINA'S previous credits include 1998's acclaimed "Mercury:
The Afterlife and Times of a Rock God" at the Sanford Meisner Theatre,
and last season's "Actor Found Dead" at the John Houseman Theatre.
Executive Producer ADRIENNE DELPERCIO is joined by Associate Producer JOSE
ARTEAGA. The set design is by FRED SORRENTINO. SCHEDULE:
